Katherine Holland is a Toronto-based Canadian photographer. She began her career with the opportunity to work on a morning radio show. She had a knack for telling stories and the show decided to accept her permanently. She then went to film school at the University of Toronto(UFT) and radio broadcasting at Humber College while working at the radio show. She eventually had a daughter with her current husband Roz Weston, and decided that photography would be an easier route for her to take as a business, and it fit right in with her skills and had history with her family. Her photographs depict people often in the midst of an action often with simplistic backgrounds that allow eyes to admire their surroundings while ultimately drawing attention to the person. The people in her photographs are usually in the center of the picture and are wearing clothing that fits with their surroundings and draws attention. The technique she uses is an eye level point of view, with the point of interest being right in front of the viewer. Katherine participates in making people happier and bringing light and more fun to photography. Almost all of her images contain something bright that gives off a happy or fun feeling and leaves the viewer feeling great and interested in seeing more. See her website. |
