1. What is the definition of ‘vlogging’? (2 marks)
Vlogging is blogging but typically in video form and often daily. 2. Who are three current and popular vloggers? What do they each vlog about? (6 marks) Logan Paul - really stupid activities and rude behavior Danisnotonfire - talks about himself, gives advice, sits around Jenna Marbles - her animals, makeup, cooking, touching her face 3. What are the qualities of a vlog? (name at least 10 distinctive features) (5 marks) People, daily activities, talking about past experiences, hanging out with friends, silly activities, drama, excitement, tutorials(makeup, etc), walking, good cameras, YouTube, music. 4. Reflect upon the topics and personalities of these vloggers. Identify the topics/personalities. Do you think that they will have the same opinion on that topic in 10 years? (3 marks) Logan Paul - He's kind of an idiot so I think there's a big chance he'll be the same in 10 years. Danisnotonfire - I think he's pretty reasonable and he may have some changes in 10 years. Jenna Marbles - She might have changes in 10 years, but she strikes me as satisfied with her current system. 5. Reflect on the permanency of on-line life. These vlogs will be around potentially forever, even after the vloggers have removed them from the online presence. How will these vlogs effect the future careers or future choices of these vloggers? (2 marks) Depending on what the vloggers say and do in their vlogs, they could be remembered in history as rude, inconsiderate people, or funny, nice, or kind people. |
6. If you were to start vlogging, what topics would you vlog about? (2 marks)
If I were to start vlogging, I'd vlog about the fun activities I do and even vlog my doing them. I'd probably also vlog silly activities with friends. 7. Think about the topics/issues identified in question 6, will you have the same opinion in the future? (1 mark) I probably will have the same opinion in the future. 8. What are the long-term: 1. repercussions 2. consequences, and 3. benefits to these vloggers? (3 marks) Vloggers can become renowned for bad behavior and opinions or the opposite as a repercussion, and in consequence can be widely hated or loved by people, but can be benefited by fame and money from their popularity. 9. If you were a parent would you let your 10 year old vlog? Why or why not? (3 marks) If I had a 10 year old who wanted to vlog, I would allow them and I would help them put together their vlogs. I don't see harm in a 10 year old vlogging as long as their parent aids them and moderates what their viewers say to them. 10. Please talk about one other issue/comments/thoughts that you feel is important about vlogging that I did not address in these questions. (2 marks) A big part of vlogging is YouTube. If YouTube didn't exist, vlogging would probably not exist as big as it does. Vlogs are typically over 11 minutes. 11. Provide a link to a vlog that you mentioned above that ‘Ms. Cameron needs to watch’ (please ensure that it is classroom appropriate and it is 1-5 mins in length). (2 marks) Important MUST WATCH Video. |
